UPDATE: just after publishing this news article the new world rankings were announced and there are a few changes: 1 Scott Brash, 2 Kent Farrington, 3 Ben Maher. Therefor the complete top 3 will be present at The Dutch Masters.
’s-Hertogenbosch is once again set to welcome the very best in the world. The current numbers 1, 2 and 4 on the Longines world rankings have confirmed their participation in The Dutch Masters. Spectators in the Brabanthallen can look forward to top-level sport with appearances by world number one Kent Farrington, alongside British stars Scott Brash and Ben Maher.
For Farrington, there is even more at stake: following his victory in the Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva, the American arrives in ’s-Hertogenbosch as a live contender for the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.
Kent Farrington
It is not the first time Farrington comes to The Dutch Masters as a live contender. In 2018, he was in the same position after winning the Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva the year before, but was forced to withdraw shortly before the event after breaking his leg in an unfortunate fall during the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington (USA).
Now back stronger than ever, 2025 proved to be an exceptional year for the 45-year-old rider. In May, Farrington took over the top spot in the world rankings from Henrik von Eckermann and went on to claim an impressive series of victories. Riding his exceptional mare Greya, he secured seven 5* Grand Prix wins, including the American Gold Cup and the prestigious Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva.
The 12-year-old OS mare Greya (Colestus x Contender), bred by Wilfried Sandmann, was recently named USEF Horse of the Year. Farrington has been riding her since 2021, and the pair celebrated their international breakthrough in 2024 with victory in the Rolex Grand Prix of La Baule.
“She has performed incredibly. To win seven Grand Prix in a single year is something very special, and I couldn’t be prouder of her,” said Farrington.
Scott Brash
|At 40 years of age, the world’s number 2, Scott Brash, remains one of the sport’s true icons. He is the only rider in history to have won the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping, achieving this remarkable feat in 2015 with victories in Geneva, Aachen and Spruce Meadows.
Brash is also a double Olympic gold medallist with the British team, having claimed gold at both London 2012 and Paris 2024. Last season, he once again demonstrated his outstanding form by finishing ahead of Farrington in the Rolex IJRC Top Ten Final, riding Hello Chadora Lady. With another top horse, the experienced Hello Jefferson, Brash continues to impress; the pair recently claimed victory in the Grand Prix of Doha.
Ben Maher
World number 4, Ben Maher, also arrives in ’s-Hertogenbosch with high ambitions. The 43-year-old Brit is still chasing his first Rolex Grand Slam victory, but has already come close on several occasions. His best result to date came in 2019, when he finished third with his exceptional partner Explosion W.
Like Brash, Maher was a member of the British team that won Olympic gold in both 2012 and 2024, and he has long been regarded as one of the most consistent riders at the very top of the sport. In the Brabanthallen, he will undoubtedly be aiming to play a leading role once again.
