Informative Clinics During The Dutch Masters

During The Dutch Masters (March 12–15), it's not just about enjoying top-level sport and festivities, you can also learn a great deal from Friday through Sunday. In the Paddock, located in the middle of the promo village, there are various clinics by well-known show jumping and dressage riders and trainers on those three days.

On Friday, March 13, the program in the Paddock opens at 13:10 with a dressage clinic titled "Relaxation and Cooling Down." Monique Peutz, among others national coach for Juniors, Young Riders, and U25, will demonstrate how best to do this. She does this together with Yasmin Westerink, who has been included in the Topsport dressage Young Riders team, and Young Rider Morgan Walraven.

Later that afternoon at 17:30, a clinic for show jumping enthusiasts follows with Arnold Boerekamps, who together with Juultje Smits and Elke van den Broek shows how horses can be gymnasticized in training.

Dutch top rider Willem Greve, winner of the first edition of the HeadFirst Group Prijs-Best of Champions and the Rolex Grand Prix in 2024, will at 20:10, together with his nephews Willem and Joep Schaap, show how important balance is also in show jumping: straightness, balance, and control.

Saturday afternoon offers two clinics by Monique Peutz. At 13:25 she briefly explains together with international dressage rider and multiple Dutch Champion Marten Luiten what the KNHS Talent Team entails. Additionally, they show how a rider prepares their horse for a test. At 17:25, she stands in the Paddock with two new members of the new KNHS Talent Team. In the evening, at 19:45, sports director Jeroen Dubbeldam and partner and international amazon Annelies Vorsselmans show how they warm up their horses before a class.

Sunday (14:00) features a show jumping clinic with attention for the Young Rider Academy, a program for young talented show jumpers supported by Rolex. Each year, The Dutch Masters invites one of these talents upon recommendation from Sven Holmberg (sports manager Young Riders Academy). This year, that is British amazon Claudia Moore. She is based at BWG Stables in Tubbergen, where she is trained by Wim Schröder. In this clinic, he shows what he looks for in young riders and how small adjustments can lead to improvement and progress.

Three days of learning for both dressage and show jumping enthusiasts. You don't need a grandstand ticket for this. A promenade ticket is sufficient, and that's already available for €20.
