Yasmin Westerink Extends Winning Streak in Freestyle Young Riders

Following her decisive victory in the Young Riders test on Thursday, Yasmin Westerink also claimed the Freestyle to Music title in the Brabanthallen. With her experienced partner Amphitryon Old, the Dutch rider completed an impressive double at her debut at The Dutch Masters.

Westerink was visibly proud of her fourteen-year-old gelding, known in the stable as 'Alfie', after the event. "This is my first participation in The Dutch Masters, and it is truly fantastic to be able to ride here," the rider said. "Alfie put in a tremendous effort. My goal was to finish the test with a good feeling and to ensure he remained truly focused on me. That worked out, and I am incredibly happy about that."

With her freestyle, the reigning Dutch Young Riders champion achieved a score of well over 75%, decisively leaving the competition behind.

Familiar Podium, Different Order
Just as in the Young Riders test on Thursday, the podium was once again occupied by the same three combinations, although the order shifted slightly. Anniek van Dulst rode her nine-year-old My First Choice – Dutopia to second place, while German rider Lana-Pinou Baumgürtel with Zinq Escalla Old FH had to settle for third place. The rest of the top five was also largely dominated by Dutch riders. Morgan Walraven finished fourth with Benicia, followed by Esmee Boers with Montreux in fifth place.
